Cruising

The Shannon Estuary is one of Ireland's finest cruising grounds — vast, dramatic, and largely undiscovered.

Cruising programme

Explore the Estuary

FYC runs a series of organised cruises throughout the sailing season, from May to October. Whether a day sail to a nearby anchorage or a week-long rally to the Wild Atlantic Way, there's something for every cruising sailor.

Cruises are open to all members with suitable boats and relevant experience. Passage planning, tidal information, and local knowledge are shared on club forums and at the pre-season briefing in April.

The estuary itself offers 60+ miles of navigable water, with excellent anchorages, interesting towns, and dramatic scenery throughout.
