A Huge Thank You!

Dear Members & Friends A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported Commodores Day. Your enthusiasm, generosity and good spirit made it a truly special occasion. As first female Commodore of Foynes Yacht Club since its founding in 1962, it is both a privelege and honour to hold this position. The club has always been close to my heart, with deep connections through both the Connolly and McCormack families. I'm especially proud that James and all our children continue that strong sailing tradition. Thank you to everyone who helped - from the morning setup to the evening cleanup. Special thanks to Tim and Ann Shanahan for entertaining and feeding our young pirates and feeding the crowds, and to our Sailing Academy for leading such a fun-filled morning. Congratulations to the winners of the Race Around the Island - 1st Darragh McCormack and Crew on Stouche; 2nd Liam Madden and Crew on Elantic, and 3rd Pat Keating and Crew on Excalibur. It was an honour to have Donagh O'Brien great-great-grandnephew of Conor O'Brien present the O'Brien Cup. Thank you also to Canon Duhig for blessing the boats, Bridie Murphy and Mairead Keogh for the photographs, and Yvonne McCarthy for the music. Sunshine, good food and wonderful company - what more could you ask for! Thank you for your support as I begin my Commodoreship. Here's to a fantastic sailing season ahead. Trish McCormack - Commodore
