Course Dates Course Times  Course Costs 

The Sailing Academy Junior Courses will run for five weeks in June & July commencing:

June 19th, June 26th  

July 10th ,  July 17th, July 24th

Courses run Monday to Friday.

Certified courses take minimum of 4 days but may take up to 10 days depending on participants approach to the course.

Participants have the option of
Full Day or Half Day Courses.

Full Days 
10am to 5pm

Half Days 
    Mornings   10am to 1pm
 Afternoons   2pm to 5pm

Skills Development
After completing a course come along for five days of supervised sailing to be skills ready for your next course.

Word Doc version uses Forms. It can be downloaded, edited & returned by email. Additional software may be required to view/edit on IOS or Android devices. PDF version available to print & return by post.

The Sailing Academy runs Irish Sailing recognised courses run with a Senior Instructor:
Children 8 to 12 years on the Optimist Dinghy
Teens 13 to 17 years on the Topaz Dinghy

FYC Sailing Academy What to Bring ???



In Jan 2017 Irish Sailing launched ChecKlick, an electronic Sailing Passport and Logbook. Participants must now provide an email address for issuing of Certificates. Foynes Yacht Club Sailing Academy require that email addresses must be for a person Over 18 Years. The ISA charge a Eur3 registration fee which we have included in the course fee. On the first day of attendance at an Irish Sailing Certified Course we will register you on ChecKlick and you will receive an email with your login details to view certificates.

To log on to ChecKlick go to:

Login: FirstnameLastaname (all one word - this is the name of the sailor)

Password is Date of Birth of the sailor in the format : YYYYMMDD

You can now keep a record of your sailing time on Checklick. You can record this time as participation in a structured course, racing time or simply personal improvement time on the water.

Log on to your Checklick account.
Select :                                                 Logbook.
From the drop down menu select :          Personal Sailing Log

Honorary Membership:
Participants in all courses shall be honorary members of Foynes Yacht Club for the duration of the course and as such are bound by the rules of the club.  Participants are reminded that personal effects, gear, trailers and other equipment are their own responsibility and Foynes Yacht Club cannot be held liable for any claim, loss or damage.

Commercial Shipping: At all times please keep well clear of Tugs and Commercial Shipping in the area.
